In direct collaboration with a major IT infrastructure provider and Sellafield Ltd, as well as working alongside Peterson (United Kingdom) Ltd, who manage the commercial delivery process, the custom delivery management system was created with functionality specifically tailored to meet unique business requirements.
This included a large emphasis on security screening at the Security and Distribution Centre and consolidated onward delivery which further strengthened security and numbers of commercial vehicles visiting the Sellafield site.
The venture, which has been three years in development in direct collaboration with Sellafield Ltd and the IT infrastructure provider, has involved Zone Manager in the complete end-to-end process of designing and delivering a custom logistics solution working in conjunction with the other system providers.
Marcus Draper, director of Zone Manager explained how beneficial it was being the current supplier at the site: “We had the added benefit of being the team that created and developed the existing delivery management system in use at the site location; so having the opportunity to develop and build upon the success of the current system that was in place, was fantastic.”
Fellow Director Nick Hoare said “As one of our biggest development projects to date, it has been insightful and a privilege to collaborate with Sellafield Ltd and the major IT infrastructure provider as well as work alongside Peterson, as it has given all stakeholders the opportunity to share best practice. For us at Zone Manager, we are extremely proud to deliver a market leading solution for this complex and challenging project.”
